Wonderful Wednesdays

Catechism – Wednesdays
The Catechism program has a longstanding history here at Highland, and one of which we are quite proud! Fifth and sixth graders who haven’t already done so participate in this program that teaches the basics of our Christian beliefs and is an integral part of our Christian Education Curriculum. It prepares them as they move towards church membership and a profession of faith. This year, Catechism will meet on Wednesdays at 4:00pm-5:00pm. Children who are eligible for this class will receive more detailed information on the class.
Wonderful Wednesday for Children
Wednesday Nights – 5:50pm-7:15pm. Wednesday Nights are totally wonderful! Wonderful Wednesday is the night when all of the community of faith in Christ come together and share a common meal, join in fellowship, enjoy a time of learning, and celebrate the love of God with our fellow Christian family. Dinner is from 5-6:30pm.
Parents must sign children in at the fellowship Hall and sign them out at the end of the night at their last rotation
The Children are engaged every Wednesday from 5:50-7:15pm in our Wonderful Wednesday Programs. Activities include music, art or missions, games.

For Preschoolers
Three and four year olds will meet in Room 133 for an exciting lesson, games, music and snack. Preschoolers must also be signed in and out by a parent. Sheets for signing kids in and out will be at a table in the Learning Center.
The focus of wonderful wednesdays is for the children to become fit in mind, soul and body. We will have a rotation of three classes each week.
Art/Mission/snack
In this rotation, the kids will be engaged in an activity centered around a bible verse either through cooking, art or a mission project.
Games
In this rotation kids can release energy as they engage in exercises, and games such as fundamentals of golf, basketball, bowling etc..
TrebleMakers
During TrebleMakers our K-5th graders will “make a joyful noise” as they learn new music to share with the congregation through worship, special services, and a musical that they’ll perform later in the year.
Preschoolers
A special addition to this program is a class designed especially for Preschoolers in mind. Three and four year olds will meet in Room 133 for an exciting lesson of their own filled with music, games, snack etc.
*Nursery will be provided for infants and toddlers.
