"I urge you brothers
and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies
as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is
your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform yourselves to
the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing
of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God’s will is -
His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:1-2

These two verses are timely for all of
us in light of the disparity that exists between the way
of the world and God’s way. We are part of the body of
Christ, His church. All of our life is to be an offering
to Him — through our prayers, our finances, our service,
our familiarity with His Word. We are truly blessed when
we put our faith and trust in Him. Christ would have us
not to get caught up in the cares of this world — with
the material things of this world — at the expense of
our being caught up in Him. Rather, He would have us
transformed in a renewal of our minds to desire to know
more of Him and live in His way. It’s all captured in
the teaching of Jesus where He says, "For where your
treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Prayer: Oh God of mercy and grace,
shine Your light on me and may Your Holy Spirit renew my
soul and put it on a path that is good and pleasing and
perfect in Your sight. In Christ, I pray.... Amen
